Fire Stopping is a SYSTEM not just a series of products.

3M ™ Fire Protection Products has hundreds of systems tested to CAN/ULC-S115-M95.

Firestopping is a complicated and very serious business. That's because it is systems that are installed, not products. Currently there are over 3,000 tested systems, from over sixty manufacturers listed with third party testing agencies, like Underwriters Laboratories, Factory Mutual, Warnock-Hersey, Omega Point Laboratories and Southwest Research Laboratories.

The problem is, there are currently no provincial licensing programs for "firestopping" installation. Anyone can do it! And with so many different products and systems to choose from, the potential for confusion, misapplication, and the associated risks is a very real concern.
